First, set up your .env
file, you can copy the .env.example
file as a starting point and then fill in the values.
You’ll need an API key, Site ID and Preview Secret.
Then, in the root of the project run:
npm install
You can use yarn
, pnpm
or bun
if you prefer.
Next up, run the development server:
npm run dev
Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
Once you have everything up and running, you might want to change or add some content - try adding a new blog post and hit publish.
Now if you refresh the /blog
route you may notice it doesn’t appear - this is because of the
Next.js Data Cache. Next.js automatically
caches the result of data requests that use fetch
, which our SDK is doing in the background.
To get around this, you can just force-reload the page, or get rid of the whole cache by running rm -fr .next/cache
or
even opt out for a specific route.
The easiest way to deploy your Next.js app is to use the Vercel Platform from the creators of Next.js.
Check out the Next.js deployment documentation for more details.
